Mystic Villages

Responsible Travel Pledge

Travel kindly,
leave lightly.

The Mystic Villages are real homes, not a backdrop. Before you book, we ask every traveller to take a short pledge — for the families, the forests, and the long arc of community tourism here.

The Pledge

Eight small things
that make the biggest difference.

  • · I will carry a refillable bottle. No single-use plastic in the villages or on the trails.
  • · I will dress modestly at temples — shoulders and knees covered, shoes off at the threshold.
  • · I will ask before I photograph any person, especially women, elders and children.
  • · I will tip my host family directly, in cash, at the end of my stay.
  • · I will eat what the kitchen cooks that day. Home kitchens, not menus.
  • · I will keep voices low after 9 pm — villages sleep early.
  • · I will not pluck flowers, fruit or medicinal plants on the trails.
  • · I will share honest feedback so the next traveller has it better than I did.

Why this matters

Tourism that gives back,
village by village.

Every booking on Mystic Villages routes income to a host family — not to a hotel chain, not to a middleman. When you carry your own bottle, ask before you shoot, and pay in cash at the end, you protect a model that takes years to build and minutes to break.

We confirm every booking personally on WhatsApp. We share the pledge again the day before you arrive. We follow up the day after you leave. This is slow tourism, on purpose.

The forests, the families and the trails will be here long after we leave. Travel as if you'll come back.
